Farbest Foods – Huntingburg, Indiana
Elements worked directly with the Design/Build team to coordinate and provide construction documents and construction administration services for a new warehouse facility, expansion of the existing office area and expansion of the existing processing area for poultry. The new warehouse consists of 45,000 square feet of receiving/dock area, cooler space and freezer space. Additionally, offices and trucker’s areas were included for a total square footage of 1,770.
This facility was design to receive and store the processed product from the main plant across the street for distribution throughout the country. The processing expansions (3800 square feet) and the office expansions (8,800 square feet) were located within the main plant and also included a new blast freezer.
Construction of the project was phased to allow operating time at the plant to continue and all office operations to continue to function without disruption of service. These renovations included programming of the current and future needs of the user as well as assessment of the existing building for implementation into the company’s short and long term plans for growth.
