IT\u2019S \u201cGAME ON\u201d FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH TEXAS IN THEIR NEWLY RENOVATED COLISEUM
\n(Denton, TX, May 2018) \u2013 The design team led by Elements of Architecture (Elements), has recently
\ncompleted the renovation of the main concourse areas of The University of North Texas Coliseum,
\naffectionately known as \u201cThe Super Pit\u201d by the student body. The 10,500 seat multi-function
\ncoliseum is home to the men\u2019s and women\u2019s Mean Green basketball teams as well as serving the
\ncommunity for a variety of events. It was originally constructed in 1973 and has hosted NCAA and
\nSouthland Conference basketball tournaments.<\/p>\n
Elements coordinated the $8.0 million project, which included the entire concourse area. The
\nmodifications to this facility also included a new ticket booth expansion, a new administrative office,
\nand an athletics office space expansion. Another key component to the project was revamping the
\nenvironmental graphics and the wayfinding within the building for an enhanced user experience.
\nThese renovations and expansions are intended to allow the building to be more of a true multi-
\npurpose facility supporting such uses as graduations, concerts, and lectures.<\/p>\n
